effect of stress and strain can precipitate heart attack, increase blood pressure, worsen diabetes, and produce paralytic stroke. Behaviour modification should attempt to change an easily excitable and irritable individual to one who is more resilient and thick skinned and less reactive, Indians have greater genetic susceptibility to develop central obesity, Hypertension, diabetes, Hyperlipedema associated with Insulin resistance and hyperinsullinism.
Emotional stress, smoking and sedentary life style aggravate and accelerate the artherosclerosis (thickening of blood vessels) heart attack, paralytic stroke and hypertension.
Each human being is unique within a life that is enormously complex in heredity, early childhood experience, cultural and psychological environment, successes, failures and emotional maturity. Living then, is the ultimate personal encounter system, every thought we think is creating our future. By being happy, healthy and
stress free, the goal of preventing disease and minimising its complication can be achieved. Meditation is a proven method of achieving a relaxed state of consciousness. It can lower blood pressure, slow the again process and keep the emotional balance. However avoidance of obesity, smoking and eating low fat diet and having regular physical exercise in addition to
mental health are important methods of self preservation and prevention of hypertension and coronary heart diseases, which are the leading causes of death.
